THE CHALLENGE
We partnered with BBSO - a Baptist church community from Oradea, Romania - to create their new visual identity. We began with a brand clarification process alongside the church leadership, defining the core idea and values the identity needed to carry. The direction crystallized into a single idea: “speranța care te ridică” — the hope that lifts you.
The strategy was clear. The meaning was strong.
But translating hope into a symbol — without falling into clichés, sentimentality, or overused religious imagery — was the real challenge.
Hope is invisible. Abstract. Overused.
The question became precise:
Can you create a symbol for hope that is both theologically grounded and visually contemporary — something that earns the message, not just decorates it?
THE SOLUTION
In the Christian framework, hope is not a feeling.
It has a source: the resurrection.
So instead of representing hope indirectly, we chose to anchor it in its ultimate expression — the empty tomb.
The mark is built from two essential elements: a closed form and an opening.
A space that was sealed — now broken open.
Minimal in form, but loaded in meaning, the symbol captures a moment that changed everything:
death no longer holds, and because of that, hope rises.
But the symbol wasn’t designed to live only on paper.
From the beginning, it was conceived as a spatial object — something that could be experienced, not just seen.
Scaling it into a large 3D installation became a critical part of the solution. At that size, the idea becomes unmistakable. You don’t just interpret it — you step into it.
